Mission and Vision

Mission:

The mission of Skokie Alliance for Electoral Reform was to revitalize democracy and promote inclusive civic engagement in our Village through the enactment of three ballot initiatives.

Vision:

We envisioned a Skokie in which:

• Voters can choose among a wide range of candidates for local office who reflect the full diversity of our Village.

• Candidates without political connections or deep financial pockets have a level playing field when running for office.

• Candidates engage actively with voters and campaign on qualifications, records, and positions instead of party affiliation.

• Elected officials are accountable to our entire community with contested elections for every position.

• Increased voter turnout and civic participation actively build a community that represents our diversity and serves our common interests.
