The Skokie Public Library Hosts Civic Lab: The Local Election Process

  • Skokie Public Library, Business & Community Center 5215 Oakton Street Skokie, IL, 60077 United States (map)

This event is hosted by the Skokie Public Library (it is not an Alliance event):

“If you are a curious voter, a potential candidate, or a supporter of someone who could be a candidate, come learn about the process to file and run for office.
All eyes may be on the general Presidential election in November, but don't let upcoming local elections surprise you. Deadlines are coming up quickly to determine who will be on the ballot for local offices in Skokie in 2025, including our school, park district, library, and village boards and other positions. Election attorney John Fogarty, Jr. will present information on what to you need to consider if you are thinking about running for election, including how to get on the ballot, the required timeline, and related issues. This presentation is also for people who want to be informed voters and know what to expect in the coming months.”
